Hi beautiful people, I am Jada Brigman. I currently live in Atlanta, Georgia. Im currently in school part time majoring in psychology and I work at lululemons as an educator. My goal is to help others heal as a Clinical marriage and family therapist. I believe healthy relationships with the people you love most is one of life’s greatest blessings. I joined the Cares Act to stand with people who want change for child welfare systems and to do what I can to add to the cause having gone through the system my self, I first hand understand the changes that are needed to really support older youth aging out of foster-care to have a stronger start to their adulthood. When I’m not at school or working you can find me doing something creative, working on a new painting project or finishing an old one:)

We know that children and youth do best when they are able to remain in their homes and communities. And when families do become known to the child welfare system, it is the system’s responsibility to partner with families in ways that promote autonomy and provide supports and resources that keep families together. ⁣
⁣
For LGBTQ+ youth and their families, this requires having a system, including staff, that engage youth and families with dignity and are affirming and responsive to their needs, as well as partnerships with a broader network of community-based supports that can meet families’ needs.⁣
